- Good Morning!
- We are into our final week in our study of Daniel and his AGENCY
- Daniel understood that there was great risk in regards to his agency and doing right before God
- Christ calls us to a similar preparation. Because He first suffers, so shall we. This is part of our walk that we ought to expect and part of our agency as His people
- We are tempted to give up when hardship comes rather than remember Christ
- Daniel didn’t forget. His trust in the Lord was steadfast. He honored God over himself or man
- Luke 22: 54-62
- Living for Christ means we ought to be prepared to suffer for Him and not be surprised when suffering happens
- Living for self rather than fully “putting on” Christ will not prepare us for the difficult periods in our lives
- Daniel 9: 1-19
- Daniel’s willingness to be included in Israel’s sin gives insight into his character as a man … willing to accept responsibility and the consequences deserved. His contrition is admirable
- Daniel’s suffering and angst isn’t just on the behalf of Israel but includes even those who don’t know or honor God
- Exodus 5: 22-23
- Israel’s witness to their God and the God of their ancestors wasn’t one that you could easily say brings others to Him
- Daniel’s prayer is that all would bring glory to God and in doing so others would recognize Him for who He is
- Being a servant means being a representative
QUESTIONS:
- DO YOU PRIORITIZE GOD’S REPUTATION BEFORE YOUR OWN?
- DO YOU SWIFTLY TAKE ON THE BURDEN’S OF OTHERS AS IF YOUR OWN?
- IN TIMES OF SUFFERING, WHAT IS YOUR GOAL?
