- WHAT DOES THE SPIRIT GIVE TO US?
- We have to understand where our power comes from when it comes to agency
- The world would suggest self motivation as the key to successful living
- Throughout God’s narrative we see a God who is constantly seeking after His creation. Man was not abandoned despite his sin and war with his creator.
- Our war with God began with a heart of rebellion. Our war didn’t begin physically, but spiritually with Him.
- Romans 7: 14-24
- Self motivation cannot see man out of the sinful condition he finds himself in. We need something more, something bigger.
- Liberty from the sinful state we are in is found in the person and work of Christ and the Spirit of God in us.
- Ephesians 6: 10-18
- God equips us with a defense that is capable of fighting anything the the enemy would throw at us.
- It’s an armor that we don’t fashion for ourselves, but that God equips us with.
- Properly equipped, we have what we need to combat any evil attack on us: helmet of salvation, shield of faith, shoes of the gospel of peace, belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, sword of the Spirit

- It’s important to remember that because we are equipped with God’s armor we somehow won’t experience attack now.

- Man’s focus leans disproportionately on what’s in front … the physical. Paying little mind to the spiritual needs.
